My costume came in the mail today!
I really like it. I think nobility is a good choice for me. I'm sure I'll look hot in
this with the wig on the side of the page.
Now, if only I could find a place to wear it. New York trip is still looking like it's not happening. Still exploring my mass transit options. I could take the Metro-North Railroad from Waterbury, which is a hell of a lot closer to Bristol. Cab companies' rates fall around $40 each way. Do I really have money for this? No. But maybe I can get someone to give me a ride to Waterbury, which is about 20-30 minutes away.
But there's still the issue of whom do I go party with once I get to NYC? Kim has to work, so she won't want to be out later than 11. At least that would afford us time to see some of the Village Halloween Parade. And I'd have to find people and things to occupy me during the day. In essence, I need to find a nighttime Halloween partying partner who will let me crash at their place Sunday night. Monday will be easier, as I can traipse about NYC a bit, and then meet Kim when she gets off work, we can hit some of the Village Halloween Parade, and then I go home that night. Or, if I can finagle my work schedule to come in later, I could leave in the morning as Kim goes to work.
Think think think. This is all getting so complicated-sounding. But it just might work, if people come to my aid.
Edit: Just got off the phone with
varouna, who told me of taking Greyhound from nearby Farmington. Cab ride should be $10-15, and the bus fare would be $45. This I could do, still see all the Village Halloween Parade, and go back at 4:30 in the morning and get back here in time for work. I'd be dragging like hell, but I'd live and wouldn't regret it.
I am e-mailing a bunch of friends living in NYC to see if they are free to party and to host me Sunday and/or Monday. We'll see, but I'm not getting my hopes up yet.
