Done last week (20150104 Su - 10 Sa)

Jan 11, 2015 09:01

Not a particularly good week. One of my self-observations yesterday kind of sums it up: "Too much stuff, too many things that need doing, not enough cope, no motivation." Not to mention Congress, Charlie Hebdo, depression comix, two dead computers (which, fortunately, I didn't have much invested in to begin with), starting my self-assessment at work, and starting to clear out our garage.

Self-assessment. Yeah; nothing like working with brilliant, productive, experienced people to make me feel stupid, lazy, and incompetent. Especially when many of them are younger than one of my kids.

Some really fascinating stuff in the links.

But Clay really nails it in so many ways. For example: 101 | depression comix "So.. how are you today?" "Fine! Yeah! No complaints!" "Is there anything you want to talk about today?" "Mmmm. Nope. I suspect it's a loss, but got 4G of RAM, a 750G hard drive, and a SATA DVD drive out of it. OTOH it probably _can_ boot. :P The keyboard is clearly defunct, and was crap to begin with, but that's what USB is for. Re-arranged, it could probably be a nice panel computer. * 15min: more garage work. Another couple of boxes of fabric up. & ordered Chinese (Yen Wor) because Jones' was out of ribs :( : laptop MB appears to be totally dead now, possibly due to UEFI idiocy. Too bad -- it's a nice system. Was.
