It snowed last night. Emmy finally got to be outside while it was
snowing -- she grew up in San Jose. Me, I'm just glad I don't have to try
driving in it -- I'm long out of practice. I may walk to Trader Joe's later.
I've spent altogether too much energy trying to get Colleen's
prescriptions transferred to Express Scripts. Depressing. My
prescriptions transferred with no problems; I suspect that the problem
with hers is that Walgreens' records have her birth date wrong. But the
website(s) are miserable, and their tech support and customer support
people don't know much about how they work - I got information that was
manifestly incorrect from them. Bletch.
A couple of times I've just wanted to crawl into a hole and hide. Is
there such a thing as a depression attack?
Meanwhile, I'm worried about this year's taxes. Very worried. I almost
certainly don't have enough withholding this year, so I'm likely to be
screwed. My sign-on bonus from Amazon is completely gone.

% Dealing with the stupid prescription website got me into a state of
stress/distress/depression/whatever/something close to tears, best described as
wanting to crawl into a hole and pull it in after me. Not a panic or anxiety attack.
Is there such a thing as a depression attack?
% ok, now I'm simply furious, after another three hours on web and phone. Something is
fucked up with Colleen's info, probably her birthday, and I can't change it without
setting up an account on Primera's main site, which it let me do but won't let me
complete the setup because it's fucked up. And although the pharmacy's phones are
open, Premera's aren't. So I'll call them on Monday, and wake Colleen up so she can
verify her identity, and get angry all over again. HULK SMASH.

* Shopping with Colleen: Northgate and Thriftway.
Bought a new purse for Colleen and a rolling backpack for me. Off brand, but it seems
comfortable. The purse is big for minimal supplies; the backpack is big enough for a
work laptop.
Thriftway's ok, but Metropolitan is closer and better.

crust" that wasn't really, but was close enough.

at Walgreens this year, that could work.

Probably mostly due to the long uphill walks going home.

than the total population of Seattle. No injuries, no arrests.
: The Seattle Times is now behind a paywall, which is annoying when they're getting half
the spots in the local edition of Google news. Wonder how long that'll last.

transferred back, hung up on, and calling again, they finally tell me that they
haven't received the prescription. :P So called UW, but the clinic was closed (it

* 15min: some puttering in the garage. Cleared out two wardrobe boxes from N's -- of
course what's left of the former contents is still there, but at least one can see
what it is. The bag of food can simply be tossed. Getting there.
* Watching Detective Dee and the Phantom Flame with Colleen. Required a
certain amount of fiddling to switch the audio from Chinese to English. The dubbed
dialog doesn't match the subtitles (which are better) very well. Kind of fun,
though. Totally unrelated to the van Gulik books.
* Dinner (for me and Colleen) scampi (shrimp and bay scallops, 1lb total) and asparagus
sauteed in butter with lemon juice added at the end and evaporated. YUM.

(
firecat?") the flip side of a common phrase. Maybe not.
"once you’ve labelled someone’s voice as not being authentically theirs, once you’ve
convinced yourself that what they’re saying isn’t coming from them but rather some
invisible bogeyman you’ve labelled depression, you’ve taken away some of their
agency." Hmm.
