The naughties
A brief retrospective:
2000: Ithaca NY, dropping out of graduate school. I voted for Hillary Clinton and Al Gore on a very old pull-lever machine. My votes don't count since that's how the rest of the state voted.
2001: moved to Austin TX to work for IBM. Met Diane on-line.
2002: worked and stuff.
2003: bought a house, met Michelle.
2004: got married.
2005: had a kid.
2006: worked and stuff.
2007: had a kid, bought and sold a house, ran my first marathon in February and my first 50K in March.
2008: "ran" a 50 miler, fired IBM, moved to Seattle.
2009: got pregnant again; miscarried.
Along the way were a couple cars (1991 Toyota Camry acquired in 1998; 2005 Mini Cooper my wife acquired in 2005; 2004 Volkswagen Jetta acquired in 2006 I believe; 1997 Honda Odyssey acquired in 2008). And a couple email addresses (mdf15@cornell.edu; fleming@cs.cornell.edu; mdf356@yahoo.com; mdf356@ several local ISPs).
