Domestic Violence

. . . is a subject I’m pretty passionate about. My books often deal with it, and with themes of oppression of women. I’ve not been the recipient DV, but it seems that many, many of my friends and neighbours have been. I’ve known friends to have been bullied, hit, strangled and emotionally tortured. I’ve cried on the phone to DV counsellors, asking their advice. What can I do? How can I help her?

So when Tansy Rayner Roberts posted this link on twitter this morning, I felt compelled to spread it. A fascinating and insightful piece written by Patrick Stewart. Please read and consider communicating it to everyone in your lives. How can we ever back ourselves as a species while these practices remain acceptable?
