Vedomosti's 10th birthday..hiphopheather76September 8 2009, 03:31:42 UTC
Hi Rosalie, Our host among others is just sharing some cheerful words of praise for the Russian newspaper "Vedomosti" as it is celebrating its 10th birthday-in fact, businessman Alexei Kudrin's video testimony (on Vedomosti's website) of his praises was easier for me to understand because he spoke a bit slower. MDP is a bit more playful in his praises-he starts off by comparing himself as well as his fellow oligarchs to "difficult children who happen to be the favorites". But he had very good words to say about Vedmosti-he rated its reporting (especially of his business endeavors) as being "professional", "competent", "very good", and "conservative". He also said that he has been reading it every day and he will continue to do so. He finishes by wishing all the best for its continued success. I hope this helps, my friend:) Take care and enjoy your day!

Hi Rosalie, You are very welcome :) Yes, I'm trying my hardest to make progress with my Russian! As for our host, he does look very well-very rested, refreshed, handsome. In fact, the old Michael Jackson song "I Can't Help It" pretty much sums up my feelings :)! Have a good Wednesday :) :)

thanks you so much Heather. Reading is quite ok, but listening to the Russian language is still a blur to me. How do you get to understand Russian? Kind regards,

Hi Valeska, You are welcome :) I am trying my hardest to make progress in Russian-I took 4 classes this past year; the Russian program that I took is rather accelerated-I had to start reading and listening to Russian paragraphs and short conversations by the second week of my first class. And then all throughout my classes I had to write Russian essays. Of course some people are harder to understand than others-the nice thing about videos is that you can watch/listen as many times as needed. I admit it took me a few times to get the general idea of what our playful host had to say :) Take care and I wish you all the best!

PS : we are reassured now : MDP seems to be in good health (in any case he has a good appetite)
