So for the third match in a row, our lovely lunar client left with a nice lead, and for the third match in a row, her team let her down and shat many imps onto the table. Unfortunately, this time the lead she left us (15) wasn't enough to hold on. How embarassing. And we lost to an old enemy. (See comment in previous post.) Damnation ( Read more... )

I'm very suspicious. Where are the spades, and why didn't partner double or bid 5C? I think it's likely he has shortness in hearts, which makes this hand considerably worse. But I can't bring myself to pass vul with two aces (I hope this is more than what I'm expected to have). Maybe partner has doubleton heart to make my hand more valuable.

You know how people give the most spots in the suit they want you to bid? It's tempting. I'm not sure partner will play me for only five though, since at second seat unfavorable I should pass most ragged six-baggers. Partner seems unlikely to have three hearts, so I'll pass up a possibly awkward 5-2 4H and just raise to 5C. Maybe 4NT is best but I'm not sure partner will pass it (and it could go down more hundreds).

Nice problem. I'd bid 4h, though I'm on the fence between that and 4NT if this has been discussed. Pard should understand that I didn't preempt and thus my hearts can't be that good. If pard isn't up to thinking that much then I probably dont want to let him/her declare anyway.
