I know how you feel. But it's a good episode from what I remember, and it really goes back to the noir feel of seasons one and two (before CW tried to turn the show into a festival of puppies and kittens and rainbows).
The Doctor, Rose and Mickey were on a spaceship run by clock-people and there were a bunch of time windows into the life of a French woman named Renette. It was pretty awesome but very sad at the end.
That would be "The Girl in the Fireplace" and it's one of my favorite episodes from season 2.
You should go back and start from the beginning. I prefer David Tennant's run as the Doctor in seasons two through four, but Christopher Eccleston is pretty good in season one. You can usually find the full episodes on YouTube.
