Edumacation?
So my wife has been talking again about trying to get a graduate degree at some point. I thought it was rather nuts at first, she having long ago achieved that holy grail of jobness for someone who studied sciencey junk but isn't afraid of wrenches, but she's managed to clarify to me that further pursuits in the direction of studiousness could end up having benefits at work, and that could be a good thing and help her feel less at the whim of those to whom a person's entire worth is defined by a piece of paper with a stamp on it. She's also explained to me that the lab apparently has things worked out so that her primary personal concern might be sometimes working on homework at home. So I might be stuck with exclusive charge of the munchkin sometimes even after she gets home, which is bad for me and him, but sometimes that happens anyway if she's been on a dumb shift or feels herself to have had a particularly trying day, so maybe that wouldn't be as big a deal as I might think ....
