I JUST UPDATED WITH A LOT OF THINGS AND IT WAS DELETED AND NOW I'M NOT GOING TO WRITE THE ENTIRE THING. GAAAHHH.
Anyway, the short version of it all...
-I am going to the Prince concert tomorrow night, in which my friends and I will dance to the music generated by greatness in our $10 super duper discount seats.
- 2 days ago, Olivia and I accompanied Shivani to Pennsylvania (near Philly) via public transportation to go see her boyfriend. While Shivani and Ankoor ran off and did their thing, The O and I were taken underwing by Ankoor's friends and we hung out at this whimsical hippie town of New Hope with boutiques and cute little stores, where we emcountered all sorts of characters. This trip was last minute, and I was under the impression that were going to Philly, but it turned out to be quite the journey. Hookah bars, a family in the wicca store consisting of children named Coyote and Jade and lesbian mothers (one remarking, "Well, we're in no position to judge each other, but you do have thousands more dollars than I do, which can go to saving the rainforest"), a tibetan art store, 8 year old boys with nose rings, vintage boutiques, retro furniture dealers, an indie used music store with an oxygen bar and a really hot guy (who was undoubtedly a pot head) and much more hijinks.
We were then amused in our arduous 4 hour (one way) journey on the train by countless characters, one being a lonely man on his cell phone, about to go on a blind date and divulging his malaise in love to his friend on the other end of the phone, and consequently, the rest of the train.
We then tried to cut the word "like" (uneccssary uses of)out of our working vocabulary, and sadly, we were not successful. It's a sad, sad day when you realize that you need the word "like" while you're talking, otherwise you might actually have to think about what you're saying.
Olivia: "Girls are much more susceptible to using "like" too much when talking, because it makes our speech more fluid."
By the end of the day, we were exhausted and Shivani exchanged stories with me and Olivia.
Me: (while in the wicca story, after hearing the conversation with the hippie family) "How did we wind up here anyway? This turned out to be quite the journey."
- I realized why I'm so attracted to gay men. Like, more than the usual girl is.
- I'm seeing Prince tomorrow, suckers!
