Thump bounce, thump bounce, thump bounce.

John could be persistent in avoidance when he wanted to be. He got ready to toss the ball again when his gaze fell on his wrist. Damn.

Couldn't he just have an Afghanistan flashback, please god, instead?
Damn McKay. And his hands and his pretty eyes and his broad shoulders and his...intensity and honesty. John had been ignoring his attraction and doing a pretty good job, most minutes of the day. Usually. Sometimes.

But then Rodney's fingers had circled John's wrist and pulled him forward as relentless as gravity. He'd never seen Rodney's face so soft before. Pulling away was not an option.

He could still feel the kiss like a brand on his mouth. Sure, he could laugh it off if it had been a bad kiss, maybe even pretend it never happened, but Rodney had kissed him like he'd been thinking about it for weeks. Kissed him like he knew John in a way that filled all the empty places.

Thump bounce, thump bounce, thump bounce.

He could keep this up for hours. Only not. Not when he'd already given himself away when he'd clutched Rodney's collar and whimpered against him.

John tried glaring at the ball in his hand but couldn't stop the grin. Just wait until he told Rodney the Borg Queen had it right.

Resistance is futile.
