What is today?

Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day...today needs to be a holiday of some sort. I proclaim December 27th to be...Hockey Day. Yeah, that sounds good. :)

So Christmas was pretty decent. Mom wasn't in as bitchy of a mood as usual, probably because she knew I would only be home for about 24 hours. Did a lot of running around, saw my grandparents for a while, opened presents, saw a movie, and got out of town. Yes, it was that hectic.

So I got a total of $60 cash from my parents, grandparents, and aunt. Got a bunch of shirts and pants, which for once are actually kind of nice because I need some more clothes that are work-friendly. Got some candles too...candles are always nice.

Coolest thing I got though...my dad is a manager at Meijer, and he got a hell of a steal on a $200 soft black leather swivel rocking chair. Someone had bought it and returned it, and it had a small scratch on it. So since they couldn't resell it, he bought it from the store for 10 bucks. Even came with a matching rocking footstool. Great deal for 10 bucks, and it's really comfortable too. Probably the best Christmas present my parents have ever gotten me...

Talked to Andrea and got a bit of an update. She still doesn't know exactly when she's going to be discharged and she won't know until Tuesday at the earliest, but she did have some good news (for me, at least). At this point, it's about 99% assured that she'll be discharged permanently, and she's been lead to believe that she could be home as soon as January 15th - and almost definitely by mid-February. So that's good. :)

Otherwise, not much is going on. This weekend is the first weekend in forever that hasn't been a hockey weekend for me. No Blues, no Ice, no Ice Eagles...it's weird. But it's a good thing because I got to get much-needed laundry done today. (Five loads...took forever, but at least it's done now.) Trying to get a lot of stuff done online too, but my mind's getting worn out so I'll probably save a lot of the online stuff for tomorrow.

But for now, I've still got a bit of laundry to put away, and my tummy's rumbling. So I'm off to do that and eat. Everybody take care...
