So I hurt myself last night at practice. Long story short, one of the guys skated right in front of me when I was helping out with a drill. My bare head bounced off of his helmet and when our knees collided, my left knee bent to the left and I felt something pop. Knees aren't supposed to bend left and right. I didn't even go down, and my head felt fine for a couple minutes immediately after. But after I went to the bench to sit down because of the knee, I was a bit woozy for a few minutes...felt like I was in a silent fog for a minute, like I was going to black out. But my head felt fine after about 10 minutes of sitting on the bench.
That's when I realized that my knee was really bad. I couldn't put any weight on it at all for a while. It took me a good 10 minutes just to get my skate off because I couldn't bend my leg. It didn't swell up at first, so I thought maybe it was an ACL or MCL instead of a sprain. Now I think it's just a sprain and a pulled muscle, because it did end up swelling up and now the problem is more below my knee than in my knee. It still hurts, but now I can put some weight on it and my knee bends fairly easily and pain-free. It'll be okay...it's just going to take a good week or two before it's back near 100%. No skating for me at practice Thursday. :(
I just looked outside to see it snowing...and sticking. Well, it's not sticking to the parking lot or grass, but it is sticking to the cars. Interesting...
The job continues to go well. Nothing else of note to say regarding that...
Cable internet rules, by the way. :)
So do the Ice Eagles. Now unbeaten in 8 games...both games last weekend kicked ass. Saturday was so damn cool...we were up 1-0 the whole game, and Cincy tied it with 28 seconds left. We went to overtime and were called for a penalty...so we were basically going to be happy to get out of the game with a tie. Then we got a short-handed breakaway to win it, and scored. The crowd went berzerk, and so did the guys...they looked like they had just won the Stanley Cup. It was truly one of the most awesome things I've ever seen at a hockey game. I love it when I get to crank up the goal horn to the highest volume possible!
Cool news...I won a pair of Colts tickets to the home game against Atlanta this Sunday. Of course, I have a hockey game to attend, so I can't use the tickets myself. So I decided to give them to my parents as an anniversary/Christmas present. Dad never gets to do anything cool like that because he's always working...and I think he'll tolerate being with Mom long enough to enjoy the game. :)
Not much else going on...the usual. Work, eat, hockey, sleep, rinse and repeat. I've been so busy that I haven't even played PS2 but maybe once in the last 2 weeks. I'll have a lot more free time when the Ice Eagles are idle though...probably be posting here more too. But until then, adios...
