Plot Bunny: Nerd Auction, John/Rodney college AU
Just read a Slashdot article about nerds auctioning: "As part of a PR stunt, a Washington Linux user group is holding a "Nerd Auction" and appealing to local sororities to exchange dates and makeover advice for their computer skills and homework assistance.
Just think about it: Rodney can't put up with actually trying to figure out girls (really, who has the time), so he'll offer his computer skills in exchange for the guarantee to get laid.
Only the person who buys him is... a guy. Well, there's still the get laid guarantee, so Rodney fixes John's computer that seems the have the most peculiar problems and goes on dates (using John's advice) which inexplicably end up a disaster. And instead of saving time he seems to spend it all with John...
And eventually he has enough and tells John to buy him a prostitute if he can't get him laid and John gets him laid without any outside assistance at all ;)
