Jeannie Miller wiggled her toes, mostly because she could..... she was still amazed at what Rodney had done to save her life. Breaking her legs so that the nanites had something to work on wasn't maybe the most elegant solution but it had worked. Maybe when she was done being furious with Rodney, she'd thank him.
Right now she was listening in fascination to Rodney who would talk physics for hours but who could never really talk seriously about himself. She wanted to ask, "Who are you and what have you done with my brother?" On the other hand, she knew he had no one else to talk to about... about whatever he was talking about.
She listened in fascination as Rodney talked about John Sheppard. Well, didn't talk about John as much as talked around their friendship -- more than friendship she guessed -- his friendship with John. Even in her kitchen, Rodney evidently wasn't going to come out and say anything directly... wasn't going to say anything that might jeopardize their positions in Atlantis.
"Rodney?" she asked softly. "Are you happy?"
At that he stopped talking. There was a light in his eyes that she had never seen before.
"Yeah. I am."
