Challenge #167: Lost in Translation
It's Monday and time for a new challenge. (I had to break the tie, but Close Quarters will be back in a poll.)
Challenge #167 is:
Lost in Translation
The Ancients haven't been around for a long time and sometimes the instructions they made aren't very clear to contemporary non-Ancients. Then there's the Pegasus Galaxy with its many worlds. The stargate seems to include a mechanism for translating languages, but not all words have a direct translation so this could lead to problems. But even between two individuals who ostensibly speak the same language, what is said is not at all what is understood (and could be different from what is meant). So maybe you want to write about the challenges of translating from John-speak to Rodney-speak and vice versa.
