John drew a new card and gave a pleased "Ha!" that he immediately regretted. Everyone else at the poker table glared at him. Ronon was squinting at his cards, trying to make something of his apparently terrible hand. Teyla was cool as ever and John was pretty sure she had a killer hand. Rodney folded.

John made an impatient noise at that. Rodney always folded. John was fond of poker and had been eager to teach his team to play when they had some free time. Rodney, however, was proving to be awful at it.

"Rodney, why do you continue to play if you simply fold at every opportunity?" Teyla asked. McKay made a face at the stacks of chips in front of the Athosian woman.

"Excuse me if I'm not as good at this as some people." He got up from the table and went for the mini-fridge. "I'm getting a beer and going to the labs. I've got much more important things to do than playing poker and..." Rodney paused, looking over Sheppard's shoulder. "Hunh. Do you know, the odds of that combination are about five thousand to one?"

Ronon threw down his cards and crossed his arms. "I hate this game."

"Because you continue to lose," Teyla commented absently, studying her own cards. Then she too slowly folded.

John's face lit up. "I win!" He laid down his hand, which held absolutely nothing of value.

Ronon groaned. "I really hate this game."

McKay smirked. "I didn't ever say it was a good combination," he clarified.

John leaned up and pecked Rodney on the lips before sweeping the pot toward him. "Thanks, Rodney."

"Anytime, dear," Rodney snarked, continuing on his search for beer.

Teyla and Ronon exchanged a look. "They are ganging up on us," Teyla observed.

"What'll we do?"

"Perhaps we should gang up on them and play a new game."

Ronon bared his teeth in a ferocious grin. "I know just the game."

John and Rodney looked stricken. "We're doomed," Rodney moaned, smacking his face into his hand in despair.
