Interview: wojelah

Oh, interviews! Answers ahoy. :)

How long have you been creating fan art or writing fan fiction?

In my head? Since I was a kid, when I'd make up stories to fall asleep at night. Out there on the internet? Since... hmm. Probably since the summer before my second year of law school, which is approximately 9,000 eons ago. By which I mean nine years.

What drew you into fandom in the first place?

I read a book. :) Seriously, I read a book and went, "that cannot possibly be all there is," and Google search agreed, and I found a teeny corner of the Internet devoted to The Beekeerper's Apprentice and sequels. Someone there had written lovely Doctor Who fic, which I inhaled with only late-night PBS viewings of Classic Who to back me up. Then I read her Harry Potter fic, and a lurker was born. Then omglawdork caught me reading fanfic in class during Oil & Gas, and we bonded over geekdom. While we were studying for the bar, she explained to me about this show called SGA, and eventually I caved and mainlined everything through some portion of S2 and let her poke me into writing.

Best thing about SGA fandom: go!

The people. I have met so, so many fantastic people, and been amazed at what a community can do.

Are you a fandom monogamist or do you participate in other fandoms? Which ones?

I am generous in my affections. :D I participate in Who-dom, Criminal Minds, and (very lightly, when omglawdork is successful) Merlin. I read in all of those plus SG:1, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures, Sherlock Holmes (film), SPN, and NCIS.

Best thing about McKay/Sheppard: go!

I love the fact that their complete inability to simply talk about things leads to hysterical/awkward/painful/difficult conversations and touches/gestures that carry more meaning than they ought to have to and the fact that all of that doesn't make the underlying emotion any less true. Maybe more so.

Why did you decide to participate in McShep Match?

Because trobadora is a very dangerous and persuasive person.

And how did you choose Team Work?

Natural inclination and also trobadora again. :D

Best thing about your contribution to this year's Match: go! (Remember to keep your answer vague, please!)

Augh. I love tracing the course of a relationship and letting the weight of that play out in the resolution.

Where can interested readers/viewers find more of your work?

It's all archived at delicious! Except for maybe the last three fics, as I am behind in life.

A word to our sponsors?

YAY mods, captains, and teams - here's to finishing everything up this last week!
