I &hearts Lim's "My Brilliant Idea"! That might be my desert island vid -- if I could only take one, that might be it, because it never fails to put a smile on my face.

That swingers party story is pretty amazing. Did it add verisimilitude to your fic thereafter? :-)

I think that vid is a desert island one for me too! It is one of my top go-to vids, mainly because of the way she handles the reaction shot. First we have this wildly inappropriate song, and that's given to Rodney as the POV character--and we know from canon that Dramatic, OTT, wildly inappropriate songs are well within his sphere of characterization. And she sells us by giving us the John reaction, building from a clear WTF? (which is our initial reaction as audience) to an amused, fond tolerance for Rodney and his wildly inappropriate metaphors. He is our stand-in for the piece, and it wins me over just as it wins over John. It is awesome in it's use of reactions.

As for the swingers stuff, well, it did for awhile. ::wink::

I liked that they had some miles on them, some wear. Again, it was something I could relate to and it made me happy that neither John nor Rodney were made out of Teflon. You could see that things would stick to them, and that they brought some damage to the table. That is irresistible to me.
