The AU thing is iffy for me. I have aread a few that are fab and others not so much. I tend to shy awafrom them UNLESS and it's a big unless...theyget the voice of the characters right--especially Rodney. So whenI read a good one like "Mating Rituals" it's golden but I'm gun shy.

I understand about the AU - I have stayed away from it in other fandoms because of the badness I found. I've been really lucky with SGA, though - just about every AU I've read has had a core of the characters I love, even if there have been universe-appropriate changes in them.
But I totally understand - there is some really badfic out there.
I am familiar with all of your tv boyfriends. But I never left a mark, I swear. Oh Jarod. He'd poke things on Atlantis, you know he would, just because it was pretty and Rodney's jaw would drop because Jarod is smart.
John would have to finger his sidearm, and twitch his eyebrow to make sure Jarod understood who McKay belonged to. Which,of course, works dandy. Jarod reads excellent eyebrow, thanks to Miss Parker.

Which episode or scene made you sit up and take notice of the McShep slash for the first time?
Jarod is on a Pretend, in Antarctica, following McKay as a potential bad guy - someone who claimed he'd stolen their work or some such - Jarod had to work harder than ever to get the credentials to even get anywhere near the place and pull all the strings of all the contacts he'd ever made to get close enough to be allowed to work on the project.
He's in the room when Sheppard sits in the chair and light up the room, and he ends up at the SGC when they're all packing to go. He actually was planning to step back and not go through the gate, *but* he sees someone from the Centre in the control room as they activate the connection to Atlantis. Top-side, cut to Ms. Parker at the gate to mountain, flashing credentials that make them take her seriously. Jarod realizes that if he doesn't go, he's caught.
He walks through the gate.
Sound like fun?

I love the variety of interpretations that fandom has of the two of them It's quite amazing that you can find just about any kind of fic you'd want about McShep. I love that their characters allow you to do that.
He's rather busy kissing the hell out of Rodney and can't actually spare the any effort to look at what he's doing. I really love to visualize this little detail. Excellent bar ficlet!
plumbers I have to ask. I think I've read all your examples in one fic or another, but for plumbers I only remember the film within a fic for GPFG productions. Is there another one?

Plumber fic - Uhm. Yis. I remember one that was an actual fic where, I think, McKay was the plumber - and it was not the GPFG, he was an actual plumber. It was some time ago and I can't really remember many specifics. I'm sorry - I'm terrible for not remembering things about stories I read!
