Oh, I enjoyed this, especially the way Rodney deliberately kept himself away from John after they returned to Atlantis. Lovely!

ETA: Also, I loved your literal interpretation of feet of clay -- beautiful!

Thank you very much! I couldn't quite resist the literal feet of clay, so I'm glad they were appreciated. :-)

"Of course I know it's not a tape."

(snort) Rodney McKay, evasion genius.

:-) Well, I didn't think Rodney was likely to actually answer that question! Thanks for commenting.

The best part was John being forced to confront Rodney in the end. :-D

Well, I thought that John would be unlikely to accept it if Rodney tried to move things on - John had to get into the right headspace first, and Rodney let him do that. (Also, no answer one way or the other would drive John crazy, I think.)

Patience is a virtue very rarely attributed to Rodney McKay and Ronon Dex, for very good reasons. Hee! hilarious. Yes, Ronon and Rodney are alike in several unexpected ways...

And I liked: John gave him the look he'd been giving Rodney more often lately, the one that Rodney couldn't interpret. and then, at last, he connected the dots & was able to interpret it. Too bad John jumped to conclusions right away, but I liked that Rodney gave him room and let him come to him in his own time--both immediately at the time, and after they got back to Atlantis...

Thank you for the comment! I'm glad you picked out the bit about Rodney and Ronon - I'm fond of those two, especially in the earlier seasons.

Very enjoyable, and oddly relaxed for a story about capture and evasion. :)
