oh wow. I love the way this story kept turning me on my head (not literally *g*). That first sentence had me thinking 'terminal disease' and then when it was revealed that that wasn't the case you sneaked in the warning to avoid head injuries. So I should have seen the head injury coming, but I didn't at all. I wasn't sure whether or not Rodney would be alive but the amnesia? OUCH. Poor John! And yet, every time he passed a point of no return, there was Rodney, caring and antagonising him back into some semblance of normality. Really good job, well done.

This is an interesting story, and it makes me wonder if, when they initially implanted John with nanites, they also downloaded a copy of his brain at the same time so they could reupload it once they pulled him out of vacuum. Definitely intriguing.

I absolutely adore this story. I love the way you kept with the gritty feel of Vegas while still managing to give John and Rodney a happy ending.

McKay was exhausting and demanding and impossible to turn down or turn off.

Which is why he'd be good for Vegas!John. Dude needs someone that challenges him.

McKay gave John a scowl and pulled back. "Don't even start with me," he said, and put the car in drive. "Did you eat today?"

Heee, and he probably needs a good bit of mothering too. :D

McKay, morbidly, wore her wedding ring, which John had thought skeevy.

Niiice. That not only explains the ring, but also McKay's attitude.

"If you stop taking the medicine, the nanites will kill you. If we zap you with a disruptor to turn the nanites off, whatever disease of the week you have will kill you.

Whoa, now that was a punch to the guts. Well played.

But enough of me copy-pasting lines I liked. Suffice to say that I enjoyed pretty much *all* the lines.

Wow. This was really great. I love how you framed how this Vegas!Rodney came to be so different than our Rodney. And I love how you interjected so much of canon into this story and integrated it so seamlessly. Awesome job.
