The end of McShep Match is here, and we hope whether your team won or lost, you had a great time reading and/or participating with us this final time. We'll be sad to see it go, but we know it's a long way from being the end of the fandom or this pairing!
As always, we have a lot of people to thank at this point. We're immensely grateful to our fabulous Team Captains, melagan and reddwarfer for all their hard work with the teams and organising the team interviews!
Next we have our volunteer artists, who did a wonderful job of prettying up the fest and the team prize-giving. Huge thanks to mific for the gorgeous and colourful McShep Match and Team community layouts and official fest icons, and ladyofthelog, who did a wonderful job with the Team Prize banners and icons.
Our teams are always very generous with their time and efforts when it comes to rewarding our top commenters, and this year was no exception: thank you very much to busaikko, danceswithgary, spikespet7 and velocitygrass.
Of course, we couldn't have made it to the end without our intrepid pinchhitters - thank you for stepping in and doing a fantastic job to kisahawklin,
lastscorpion, omg_wtf_yeah, roaringmice, sian1359, skinscript and wneleh.
Since I'm the one writing this post, I'm not going to thank myself for writing a pinch hit, but I am going to thank my lovely co-mod trobadora for the idea. In January 2007, we were in our second planning session for what eventually became McShep Match when she expressed a burning desire for McShep femslash. It took a long time to go from a giggly conversation to an actual story, but it's sort of fitting that it ended up as the last entry for the Match in the end, even if it was completely by accident!
Finally, thank you once more to everyone who participated, whether as part of a team, in the warm-up challenges, by reading, commenting, voting, betaing, or cheering on the teams. In fact, thank you to everyone over the last seven years who has contributed in any way -- you've made the fest something that will always be very special to us.
