“I’m just…” John cleared his throat. “I’m sick of it, doing the wrong thing. At first, when I joined the Thieves’ Guild… I’d kind of envisioned that ancient folktale. You know the one about Robin Hood?”

“The fox?” Rodney asked. “Oh, wait the thief of Sherwood Forest, yeah.”

TEEHEE Disney!

I love your character development and the sense of family that flows throughout the storyline. Thank you very much for sharing.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked the Disney reference. I figured that'd be something Rodney would secretly watch, you know a "classic" of the old times, but then John would be referring to the actual legend so, lol.

Really beautiful world building. So many things lost, so much to be gained. I hope they change the world!

Interesting quotations about dreams used here to introduce the chapters in this story of a nightmarishly polluted world. When a solitary tree and sparse grass make up a park, one can see how a stone figurine would be a valuable, treasured gift for Teyla.

Glad you like the quotes, I was a bit nervous about including them. And yes, such an item is so rare in this world, I'm happy you got that Teyla would really appreciate a present like that.

I like the intimacy of John sharing Rodney's dreams, and that his dreams were filled with oceans and forests and the sky. It's nice to think of Rodney bringing the world back from the brink of destruction, usually it's just up to him to prevent it.

I know, right? So often in the show Rodney is either the cause of the near destruction of a world, or the person who is immediately charged with preventing destruction. But I believe Rodney does have a conviction to do the right thing, so I wanted to see him in a setting where he was playing the determined hero that probably won't be appreciated immediately.

Really nice execution of a great concept. I like the ending; it's inevitable that Rodney will solve the problem!
