Adventures in ABQ

Jul 27, 2007 12:51

So Wednesday evening I drove to ABQ to chill with my friend Leon. I made record time to his house. I drove anywhere from 95 to 105 mph slowing down only when blocked by safe drivers driving side by side. I found my friends house with little difficulty. He had received some free tickets for the advanced showing of Superbad (Another teen comedy that I wasn't impressed with. It did have some funny moments, but I am thankful that I didn't have to pay for it). After the movie we went to the "super club" Grand Central Station. The reason I call it a super club is because of the layout. The building was huge and separated by four large rooms each with their own dance floor, one or two bars and plenty of space. The first room you see as you enter is a Karaoke bar, and needless to say I spent no time in there at all. The next room was kind of a central room that led to all the other sections, unfortunately. It was the country western room. To the right of the shit kickin puke hole was an eighties remix room. We spent just a little time in there, the room was blessed with a wonderful collection of vintage arcade machines, including Galaga and Joust. To the right of the cow roping central hub, was the hip hop room where we spent most of our time. I danced, I drank, I had fun. However, my goal was to find a woman, what I found however was either taken or disgusting. The one girl that really heated my engine came in stayed for ten minutes then left. My buddy however did pick up a girl that we assumed was the coolest girl there. We stayed till closing then the four of us went to Village Inn. This girl was ghetto. "These fuckers next to us are soooo loud." She would say in a Mexican accent. "I fuckin hate this shit hole. If I don't get service now I'm just going to leave." I actually struck up a conversation with her, but it was one of those situations where I was making fun of her, but she was so dense that she didn't understand my mockery. We went back to Leon's place then passed out sometime around 6:00 AM.

9:45 AM my phone goes off to wake me up. What the phone call was made for is another story all together. The point is my phone died, but just before it did I wrote down a number. I intended on stopping by a certain friends house on my way back to Santa Fe. A certain friend who moved to Rio Rancho. I called him from my friends phone and I received no answer from him. I couldn't wait for him to return the call so alas I left without seeing my long lost friend. Oh well his loss.
