ghostwriter: the spirit of meddling
so, i watched ghostrider last night. i want those two hours back, or to somehow splice footage from that with the old pbs show Ghost Writer into some crazy fever-dreamed mash-up with the spirit of vengeance meeting some dead guy who wanted to protect "the children" and uses text stolen from the surrounding area to create clues. the movie was just bad across the board (with the exception of some effects).
aliens versus predators two comes out in december, and it's looking good, if only for the fact that they've obviously gone for a hard R. i'd be super excited if it wasn't for the fact that it was set in the present day US in some rural town. to be fair, it's better than an ancient temple under Antarctica, but it'd be nice to set the movie in the aliens time period. they have access to all sorts of awesome visual design, and they go with the predator 2 visual approach. blah.
so i'm trying to pick up a saturday job working construction with a friend of the family. he's a lawyer who builds/repairs houses on the weekend. i've done the whole frame carpentry thing before, but he does the whole house, from start to finish, usually by himself or with one or two other guys. so with the double shifting at UPS, any substitute work, and the construction job, and running sound all day sunday, i could end up working over 70 hours a week on a regular basis. hooray!
