Hallo, the fact that he might be an asshole hasn't changed the fact that he that he's overcome drinking and that he's managing to keep his clinical depression under control without the pills any less greats. It doesn't change the fact that he's really tried to speak out against suicide, against prejudices, against women being treated like second-class citizens.
Also, God forbid we ever have any sort of idea what these guys are going through. Particularily Gerard, who apparently is the biggest prat in the group. Hmm, five years ago he was a nobody drug addict, and he somehow had to deal with sudden fame, no antidepressants because they could kill him, so now he hasn't gotten an escape route for his thoughts. Oh, and his fans like to ridicule him, and he just found himself in a messy engagement. Fucks sake, can you blame him for being all aloof?
No offense, but if the idea of some rockstar being an asshole is new and surprising to you, then that's really sad. And if it offends you and you find yourself getting worked up about it: GET A LIFE.
