Stories
Medical people have disgusting minds. I have definately noticed a change in my outlook of certain things after experiencing what I have. So to me the following stories are cool, and make me love being an EMT. Normal people will be disgusted and not find them cool.
My friend works for Ft. Wayne EMS part-time and today he told me about his weekend.
Fatality 1. A 32-year-old man successfully commited suicide by laying perpendicular on a railroad track. This has to be one of the ballsiest ways to do it, because I dont even like driving over railroad tracks. They found his truck parked nearby as well as SEVERAL empty beer bottles. So the moral of this story, is dont let your friends drink and lay down on railroad tracks. They found him 5 different pieces thrown about the scene. The funny part is while searching, the EMTs, police, and fire guys all found a piece of him at the same time and were like "We got a middle-aged white man." JINX! There was about 30 feet of blood covering the tracks originating from initial impact. Train 1 - Man 0
Fatality 2. This guy was murdered by consecutive GSW (Gun Shot Wound for the medical term impaired) to the head. This gentlemen was apperently a upper echelon drug dealer in the Ft. Wayne area. The police were quite sad to see him get his head blown apart. My friend went to examine the exit wounds and lifted his head and he said the continuity of his head was somewhere between pudding and play-dough. After receiving 4 shots to the head the bone was totally shattered throughout the cranium as well as the brain being totally shredded apart.
This is great stuff, I wish I could have been working this weekend. Good news, I have passed my state emt exam, but I still need to take my skills practical. I never have gotten around to it so we will see.
Just to freak Jon out, I AM GOING TO TALK ABOUT SHARP POINTY NEEDLES POKING YOU!! OH NO FLUID GOING IN YOU OH ITS SCARY!
