One Pete lay on his back, eyes closed, and an arm out stretched over his forehead. His feet dangled over the edge of the small couch in his dressing room. He heard a light knock on the door but refused to let anyone enter. The knock was heard once more before he heard the door open. His eyes shot open as he stared straight at his girlfriend.
"Mia, what do you want?" He groaned.
"Pete what happened, Jer said you flipped out on him?" She sat in the makeup chair across form the couch.
"I just don't want to go to the show on Saturday. I have plans and I intend on keeping them."
"Pete..." Mia gave an exasperated sigh, "don't make this about you. You have to, you're the first and the last model to go on and you know how much you mean to this place."
Pete cast his gaze away, knowing she was right but no admitting it.
"You're more than just a pretty face Peter. You've come up with so many ideas." She leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees. "You could start your own modeling agency and clothing line, you know that?"
Pete looked up at her and smiled. These moments were the ones that made Pete hate himself for leading her on like he did. The only reason he decided to be her boyfriend was to fend off any rumors.
"Thanks Mia." He got up and kissed her forehead. "But I'm still not going." He made a dash for the door.
"Peter Lewis!" She threw a hair brush at him and made a face. "Please, do it because you love me?" She asked softly, walking up to him.
"I hate it when you do that, "Pete sighed, "pull the 'I love you' card."
She smiled and kissed him. He groaned in protest against her lips.
"Fine, I'll go." He said, shaking his head. "Now, will you leave me in peace so I can make a phone call?"
"I'm out. Thanks baby." She kissed him once more and left the room.
Pete moaned, fishing his cell phone out of his incredibly tight pants pocket and planted himself on the couch cushions. He quickly dialed Joe's number and after a very uncomfortable explanation as to why he had to miss the party he was back to his previous position, stretched over the small sofa.

I missed partying with my best friend for this? Pete thought as he sat at his station getting pampered by the makeup artist.
It was same thing every show. They would usher him backstage, and tell him what he would be wearing and if he didn’t like it, too bad. Then he would be sat in a chair and the stylists would pull, straighten and primp him for forty minutes.
The lights would go off, out where the audience was seated and an announcement would be made about the clothing line and so on. Pete was practically pushed out in his tight jeans and hoodie gliding across the catwalk like a trained horse. It took every bit of will Pete had not to walk out of that place and never come back.
"Great show Pete." William said walking up to him.
"Thanks Becks, you too." Pete smiled
William Beckett (better known as Bill or Becks); tall, thin, and gorgeous. He was perfect for Decay. He was the only person Pete had befriended while at DD. Before Pete had the suggestion of acquiring a girlfriend thrown at him, he had wondered if there would be a chance between him and William.
Pete never found out if Bill was gay and to this day he still has no clue. He was never seen with a woman, but he was never seen with a man either. The way he and Pete talked, there were some suspicion that they had a thing, but Bill confirmed they were friends and nothing more.
Pete gave up after that.
"So you got plans for the rest of the night?" William asked, leaning up against the makeup station.
Pete looked at the clock mounted on the wall, wondering if he could still make Joe's party.
"Nah, I got nothing." Pete sighed.
"Oh well, there's an after party going on right now. You should come," He leaned in close and whispered in Pete's ear, "we're gonna get wasted."
Pete wasn't much of a drinker and he certainly didn’t want to use drugs, but any time he could spend with Will was time worth wasting. He nodded and followed William through the throng of people and models.

Pete woke up the next morning, in his own bed in his own apartment. He had left the party once William had one too many. Pete didn’t want to be around him after had too much to drink. Becks will be alright on his own, Pete thought.
Pete rolled out of bed and felt his phone vibrate in his pocket.
"Hello?" He asked. His voice was hoarse and his throat sore.
"Pete, hey it's Jeremy."
"Yeah, why are you calling so early?"
"It's 2:30 in the afternoon Pete." Jeremy chuckled. "Listen could you put William on?"
"I'm at my place. Why would he be here?"
"Oh well, I assumed he left with you. He wasn't there after you left the party."
"Well, he's not. You don’t know where he is?" Pete asked fetching a bottle of water from his fridge.
"No, he's bound to be around here somewhere. Probably off with somewhere with a girl." Jeremy laughed. "Listen Pete, while I have you, could you come down here. I developed the film from your photo shoot and I'd like you to see them."
"Yeah, sure." That was the last thing Pete wanted to do.

"You look good." Jeremy said laying out the pictures in front of Pete.
I know that already. "Yeah I guess."
"Hey guys," Mia sang, walking up to them, "You hear about the knew guy?"
"Who, you mean that boy working in the mail room?" Jeremy snorted, "Yeah I saw him this morning. Like we need another one."
"I heard he was going to be Jonathan's new assistant." Mia whispered. "You know, because of what happened with his previous one. Now his assistant has to be male."
"Listen to yourselves gossip like school girls." Pete chuckled. "So this kid's gonna be an executive assistant? Who do you have to blow to that job?"
"Apparently Jonathan." Jeremy snorted.
"So what's his name?" Pete asked.
"Now who's gossiping?" Mia teased.
"I just want to know the kid's name."
"Michael, I think... I heard someone call him Mikey."
"Wait here he comes now!" Mia whispered.
Pete tuned around and saw a tall thin guy with glasses carrying a package. He was walking into the executive's office; Jonathan's office.
"That's him?" Pete asked, eyes still glued where Mikey stood.
"Yep, and if you ask me, he really doesn't belong here." Jeremy commented. "He stutters and seems extremely shy. He spilled coffee on that table this morning."
"Well it's his first day, I bet he's nervous." Pete said turning his attention back to Jeremy.
"Yeah, I bet he hasn't ever seen so many beautiful people before." Mia giggled. "Pete! You should go over to him and..." She trailed off not really having any ideas.
"I don't know, just go over and talk to him! Make him nervous." She quickly added.
"I'm not doing that. Unlike some people around here, I don't get off on making others uncomfortable." Pete said, shifting on his feet.
Mia huffed and shook her head.
"You're no fun." She pouted. "Well I have to go. See you guys later. Love you." She kissed Pete and left.
"So what do you think of the pictures Pete?" Jeremy asked.
"Huh? Oh I like them. I'd like to see the ones of the show though." Pete said looking back at Mikey who was coming out of the office.
"Um, I don't know if they're ready yet. Wait here, let me go check." Jeremy took off to fetch the pictures.
Pete saw Mikey adjust his glasses, cleaning them and fixing them back on his face. Pete sighed heavily and walked over to him, hoping he wouldn't intimidate the boy.
"Hey." Pete said, startling Mikey.
"H-Hi?" Mikey said.
"Sorry didn't mean to scare you. You're new here right?"
Mikey was still looking at him suspiciously.
"I'm Pete-"
"Wentz, I know who you are. Anyone who knows anything knows who you are." Mikey said softly.
"Yeah... Michael, is it?" Pete asked, trying to sound normal.
"Yeah, but call me Mikey." He smiled, and Pete couldn't help but smile back.
"So you're working for Jonathan now? How did you get that job?"
"A friend of mine pulled some strings. I was supposed to work in the mail room, but he told me he could get me a better job, and he did."
"So looks like we'll be working close." Pete mentioned.
"What do you mean?"
"Jonathan likes having my opinion on clothing lines, along with a few other models here."
"Looks like I'll be seeing you around a lot then." Mikey smiled.
"Yeah I guess so."
"Well, I gotta go. Maybe I'll talk to you later Pete."
"Yeah, maybe." Pete said and Mikey walked off to do whatever he needed to do.
He turned around and saw Jeremy standing there with both eyebrows raised. Pete just smiled and asked for the photos.
