ADMIN: Rule Refresher

We haven’t done one of these for awhile (last one was way back in September! Geez) and we have a little break between concert legs so I’m just going to remind everyone of some of our key rules.

• Anon commenting is turned on and we did so deliberately when we created the community. Insulting anons (or anyone) is not okay with the mods and we WILL warn you. Anons are subject to the same rules and regulations as everyone else in the community.
  
• If you have an issue WITH ANY COMMENT, THREAD OR USER, please don't be scared to bring it to our attention. You can do so by responding to the thread with “MOD!” or similar in the subject line, emailing us at mcr.unofficial @ gmail.com, PMing the mcru_mod account, or @replying us on Twitter. We will happily take a look in and step into the thread. Sometimes we don’t see something we should and we need it brought to our attention. It can’t be stressed enough: PLEASE DO NOT INSULT ANOTHER USER.
  
• PLEASE DO NOT DELETE COMMENTS. If you need to make an edit, use the edit feature or reply to your own comment with the edit.
  
• STAY ON TOPIC, PLEASE. This is a large community with a lot of commenting and occasionally very high traffic posting, everyone remaining on topic helps us to mod more easily.

For Posts:

• We require sourcing on everything that is posted. Even if it’s your own scan, please indicate that somewhere otherwise we will mistakenly ask you to source your own scans. In our concert posts it is imperative we have the original source for things (i.e. not the Tumblr that reposted it but the original Flickr account).
  
• We prefer video embeds of all kinds go behind a cut as a courtesy. Images that are large (anything over 500x500) should be resized or put behind a cut.
  
• If you are unsure if your post will be accepted here, check out a list of what we do not allow.

We have a TON of information in our FAQ regarding commenting, band history, other links and everything under the sun. If you have a question, please check it out and feel free to ask us anything that is not there! We are happy to answer.

Obviously most important HAVE FUN. This community is for MCR fans to come and chat and read about their favorite band. Whether you’re an old hat or a newbie, a veteran LJer or an anonymous fan, you are more than welcome here.
