“You know what’s a really badass song? You might not have heard it in the UK but the band Kixx have a song called ‘Don’t Close Your Eyes’. That’s just a like, power ballad. You don’t get more power ballad than that song. Power ballads are interesting because they’re hit or miss; they’re either utter failures or you give into the cheesiness of them, and if you give in to the cheesiness of it then the song has succeeded. My band struggles with those kind of songs - ‘I Don’t Love You’ has a bit of that about it, but not enough, really.”
