So it's been just over a year now since my engagement ended in a fiery crash of passive aggression and public humiliation. All signs still point to this being a positive change of direction for all parties involved, and yet I still have a hard time closing the door on the past.
I finally put the ring I bought her up on Craigslist today. I don't really want anyone else to have it, but I can't bring myself to throw away a $2000 rock, and I certainly don't need to keep it around as a reminder. I could give it to her to have made into some other piece of jewelry, but for some reason I can't stand the thought of her having it, unless it carried the same significance it did when I gave it to her, and I think we already exhausted that possibility.
I wish the jewelry store would take returns so I wouldn't have to drag such tough memories back to the surface. Even If I get lucky on Craigslist I only stand to make %75 of what I paid for it.
This whole process makes me want to puke.

The loan for my car is being processed as we speak and I should hopefully have the keys to my new ride in my hands before taking off for my family reunion in Montana this Thursday.
