Upcoming race, and nostalgic ramblings...

Travel stresses me out, and racing stresses me out. This is not to say I don't enjoy either, because I do, immensely. However, they do cause me large amounts of stress so I hope I am able to remain socially functional this week before going down to Indiana this weekend. Of course, now I've written that, I don't feel nearly as stressed. Whew. That's nice.

This past weekend had many ups and downs, but mostly ended up ok. I did lots of riding, did lots of bike maintenance, ate lots of food, and spent lots of time with friends. I also accomplished several small miscellaneous projects. This weekend felt like summer in Ann Arbor again.

Ten years ago was my first summer in Ann Arbor, at least July and August anyway. Most of our Bursley gang lived in either a sublet in Geddes Hill, or in a frat house just down the street. Every morning, Paul and I would wake up at 6 am and run four miles through the Arb and Gallup Park. That was stupid, yet lots of fun at the same time. The first half of that summer, I worked in Manhattan and woke up at 6 am to make the two hour, thirty mile commute. That was just stupid.

One year ago tomorrow, I created this livejournal account and entered the world of weblogs. I know this because livejournal just reminded me that it was time again to give them more money to store my goofy pictures.
