NaNoWriMo book

So it's been six months since I finished the craziness that is NaNoWriMo. And I'm now, finally, ready to take a first look at what I wrote. After editing the first few pages, it's not as atrocious as I feared, which really boosts my spirits. Or at least, I don't think it's atrocious.

I'm going to be handing it over to a beta reader soon, and following that, I'll edit it and submit it for consideration to one of my writing groups. Hopefully folks will give me lots of edits. Either way, it's always really great to hear everyone's opinions. I love critiques!

Last November, I thought I might want to write a sequel for my book, but have now decided the story will work better to just continue. I thought about epilogues, but unless those are done well they can ruin a perfectly good book to the point of readers choosing to pretend the epilogue doesn't exist *isn't naming any names*.

Ultimately I'm excited to be editing. NaNo was such an intense project that I wanted nothing to do with my book until now. Of course, I'll be participating again this year, even though I'll be in Turkey for the first half of November. Considering last year I had a 15K word day, I'm sure I can make it to 50K by Nov. 30.
