scenes from a passing journal

Monday was a good session.  Brazilian frog farms run by Nazi sycophants, macumba, African fae and necromancy.  If you ever wanted to know why I like Mage, it's because the world is so often stranger than anything you can come up with and a little research yields much stuff.

The rest of the week was gym, sofa, episodes of Stargate season 1 and trying to keep ourselves from drowning in paperwork.

Friday was alternating between scorchingly hot office (the climate control isn't quite doing it's job to the chagrin of our facilities team and I've been logging the Mexican temperatures for those who like a little evidence with their whine) and bitter cold outdoors loading up degausser.  Followed by brief post-work drink with M. then taking absintheskiss  home for pizza and Stargate.

Yesterday I was ill.  Headache-y, shivery, hot & cold.  No fun so apologies to harmanhay  for abandoning absintheskiss  to your tender mercies.  If it's any consolation, I appear to be shaking it off now (says the man who slept through till 7pm, turned on the TV and lay there in drug-haze until I got phone calls from paulbroz  on the matter of his birthday).  Followed up with yet more sofa time and Stargate season 1.

Snow on the roofs this morning, slowly melting.  I like snow, it's way more interesting than rain (which is what we mostly get around here) so those of you cursing the snow today will get not much sympathy from me.  It means I can't really garden but I'm philosophical, we're not short of stuff to do right now.  Am considering upgrade to Office 2007 as it's sat there looking at me.
Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary.  Eight years. Unless you are on fire in a very real and immediate sense, the lovely absintheskiss and I will be unavailable for the evening.  Normal service resumes thereafter.
