Dare I look? Movie franchise of Clive Barker's Books of Blood. As long as Jonas Armstrong gets to die! for his Mancunian Robin Hoodie then it cannot be a bad thing. In other movie news, Rob Zombie may be taking a look at a Conan movie. If you want a real laugh, take a look at some of the comments on this page. And a medieval Underworld prequel not starring Kate Beckinsale but... Rhona Mitra. Before you all give up hope, Bill Nighy is also in it. Given the lack of PVC in the medieval era outside of a Uwe Boll film, we'll just have to settle for the corsets and leather. Still the effects should be entertaining; one thing Underworld has got right is the vampires. The wall-walking werewolves? Not so much.
Speaking of the Cimmerian, I am currently hacking & slashing my way through the Centenary edition of the collected Conan. I am going to have to make like
theo1 and put a metric of the Conan vs. ape/man-ape fights up here, not least because they seem to be a recurring feature when I finish the book. Wonderful things these libraries - they deserve your patronage.
