Of course, following the snow in Jerusalem post, we had some here. A little flurry but snow nonetheless. The makes me a little happier about events at the moment which are not quite going as I'd like but like the man said 'So you want to live in a one-sided world? Be prepared for a whole lot of hurt.' Work sucks right now. Anything else and you have to sign the Official Secrets Act. Sorry. However, I have with help managed to finally get rid of one particular millstone (previously referred to as Project Tweedledope).
On Friday, I demonstrated the usual geographic ineptitude and went to the wrong Revolution. There I enjoyed a fresh meze and strawberry vodka before realising 'No, wait, the other one...' where I met up with work colleagues who for some reason had left later than I did on a Friday. There was no fear (so vodka is permitted in moderation) and I was introduced courtesy of a very attractive barmaid to porridge vodka.
Now this concept shouldn't work. I am not a fan of porridge unless it contains a pointless amount of sugar or honey or chocolate. Porridge as an alcohol concept is a bit bizarre anyway. However it works. Oats, milk, alcohol, sugar. Sweet, creamy with a digestive biscuit aftertaste. You really could drink this all day and not get tired of it before you fall over. It works to the point that I'm wondering if somehow they tapped into some previously unknown recipe for
kumiss and it's appealed to my inner Hun.
Needless to say, the assembly (increasingly our place is run on temps) got quite happy and we fell into the trap of trying various flavoured vodkas and then disassembled and went home.
Those of you who attended SINergy in December will be aware that we had some media attention. Copies of said magazine will be available in the foyer pre-event. We have every reason to be pleased with the results as it's a LARP-positive article. In an attack of irony this month, I'm going to a LARP and
absintheskiss isn't (as she's prepping for the larpfair stand). Whodathunkit?
