The rules of clothes shopping (revisited)

  1.  When you're looking for a perfect outfit to wear to a summer baseball game, you'll be disappointed to find that all the stores have brought out the fall line.
  2. If you love it, they probably don't carry it in your size.
  3. If they carry it in your size, you'll probably hate it.
  4. Never ever trust the sizing of anything on the clearance rack, particularly if it's exactly what you're looking for.
  5. If you turn down a pair of pants at one store, banking on the fact that you'll be able to find it at the next store, you won't.
  6. No matter how good you're feeling about yourself, you'll feel a million times worse when some skinny twit asks the store clerk for a size -4 at the same time you're asking for something from the "double digits."
