I enjoy Christmas, I really do. It's not my favorite holiday, but this year, I was really starting to enjoy the wholesomeness, the being around friends, the sharing in the spirit with family, and, especially, the giving. And people surprised me this year. They seem to be genuinely in the spirit of Christmas
But then I saw these two articles, and while the first one I do somewhat support in that the Salvation Army is trying to do something good for people with difficult jobs, but you have to have a lot of faith to give money to
Parolee bell ringers (BTW, Why do they wear aprons that say "I'm a Bell Ringer"? Isn't that stating the obvious?). The one that I was having difficulty with was
the bad santas, who appear drunkenly in your neighborhood. Our city already has drunk homeless people. What I would want is a Santa that I could hire to take a photo of next to my child who fell asleep waiting for Santa all Christmas Eve, since I can never catch the real one (boy, were those bear traps a waste of money!).
