5 Reasons Why Facebook Sucks

Oct 03, 2009 15:11

I've been wanting to post this for a while, but I've been too busy wasting time with Facebook.  So here are  5  6 reasons why Facebook sucks.

1. Posting certain items to the wall doesn't go to the "News Feed."

2. You cannot subscribe to the "News Feed" as XML/RSS, nor can you subscribe to anyone's wall, but you can subscribe to everyone's notes, leaving you with 100s of subscriptions on your News Reader, which has to only be the one native to the browser so it's authenticated (i.e., you can't use Google Reader, which is really a drawback on Google Reader).

3. Finding direct links to your own applications or Fan site is not a simple link on the left.

4. Useless applications.  Applications should at the very least be moderated in some capacity.

5. No Tags/Keywords.  The one thing I've always hated about journals and status sites is the linearity.  At least Livejournal helps break the linearity by allowing you to create "Tags" for everything, so if I missed a week of updates and I want to see what my friend's latest status is on their new baby, I don't have to wade through 5 EFFING PAGES OF APPLICATION AND USELESS LINKS.  I can just click on "Baby."  Or is it "New Baby."  Damnit... oh yeah, it's "Auntie."

Bonus:
6. Formatting.  Can I get an AMEN?

Livejournal, I've missed you.  Can you ever forgive me?
