I will fully agree with the Big Papi assessment, especially as he's spent a good chunk of the season thus far on the DL and in fact is still there as far as I'm aware. Youk deserves to be there for his defense alone. The motherfucker is a goddamned wall on the right side of the infield. Josh Hamilton is the most deserving of the anyone on the team in my opinion as he's actually a threat to win the Triple Crown this year, and THAT'S the reason that Sizemore didn't get the start. Sizemore plays center, so does Hamilton and Hamilton's having a much better year thus far, with a BA of .309. Unfortunately, Jeter's going to be on that team every year that he plays just because of who he plays for. Jeter is the most overhyped, selfish player I think I've ever actually seen play the game. Dude's having an offseason coming off of a disastrous post-season last year and yet, talk to a Yankees fan, and he's the best player playing right now. The motherfucker's not even leading his TEAM in any category on the offensive side of the ball. It's so delusional it's fucking ridiculous... As much as I hate to say it, A-Rod's having a pretty solid year thus far. Of course it's not the playoffs, yet, so nothing new....And how can you say that Ichiro is having an off-year? He's batting over .300 and has 34 steals and accounts for 61 runs. His RBI counts a bit low, but he's a lead-off hitter and RBIs are a bit deceiving as they kind of rely on the rest of your team to not suck at least a little bit. Pedroia is in the top 10 of BA and runs scored as well as being an amazing defensive player. That being said, I think he needs to be behind Kinsler, as well, who's leading the league in BA, so there you go... Unfortunately, I have no idea how 'Tek got voted in, 'cause offensively? Not that great of a year, only batting .218, the only thing I can figure is someone could rationalize by his defensive game, as he's one of the best catchers in the game when it comes to calling a game and nailing a potential stolen base runner.
Anywho, that's all I got. Some of those choses, though, are a bit baffling, I agree. I guess that's one of the benefits of working in a large market city.
