If not now, when?

Hello there!

I have declared a personal day! For the rest of today, AND Monday. :)

Originally I was going to take the entire day off today (and I totally should have), but because there was a lot of stuff to do at work, I chose to come in for half a day. Aaand there was free lunch, Boston Market, so I had to come for that at least! Needless to say, work absolutely blew today and ultimately led to my decision of taking Monday off. This is big for me: I normally don't take off just for the heck of it. Nor do I put myself first much, especially at work! I'm usually too worried about someone being mad at me for taking a day off -or- because I'm a workaholic I am tempted to come in on my days off anyway. Buuut, this is important. I need to sort things out and take care of myself! To help me realize this, I had "one of those moments" as I stood in my office after the dust settled this morning: Like a dork, I have a framed copy of Lyle Overbay's letter to me sitting on my desk. I've read it more times than I can count, but this time it felt like I was reading it for the first time. It inspired me--"If you ever get too stressed out, take a step back, do something you enjoy doing, and know God has a purpose for you to do good things in your life"--as a big smile spread across my face. Such simple advice, but what a powerful message.

On the agenda for today: Relax and maybe take a WalMart run with Matt. We never see each other during the week so I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with my Baby Daddy. :) It's another beautiful day in WI so we might walk down by the lake. We would drag out the fire pit... but we don't want to set the garage or the neighbor's fence on fire--it's quite windy, hehe. Our basement / room closet is practically done, minus the moldy carpet we are kind of leaving as-is for now. Eventually we'll tear it completely out of the closet and put down tile, but since it's not urgent it might not happen until next year. Which is fine, because it's only a closet. It's freshly painted, so I'd love to get all our clothes back in there and out of the other bedrooms (and off the floor...) and THEN start working on cleaning the baby's room.

Tomorrow Matt's got a volleyball tourney which I'm going to attend; not sure what else is in store for the day, but I love not having plans sometimes.

Sunday and Monday are up for grabs--maybe I'll attempt to catch up with deviantART or some other things I've been neglecting! I have an extremely awesome project I'd love to at least start planning for...

Still can't get Owl City to vacate my CD player...

Matt and I are still trying to sell each other our favorite baby names...

It's going to be a fun weekend. XD
