Lauren just growled slightly as she opened her front door and found Puck outside, sheepishly holding her glasses out to her.

"I would've had to wear contacts today if you didn't have these, and I hate wearing contacts, Puckerman," she said, as she put her glasses on.

Being able to see made the morning only slightly better, being as it was Monday, after all.

"Breakfast?" Lauren asked, holding the door open wider.

Might as well try to be nice, now that she could finally see again.

Puck smirked. "I brought 'em back," he said with a shrug of broad shoulders. "No worries. I got this."

Breakfast didn't sound bad at all, and since she was offering, why not? "Sure," he said, walking into the house. He wasn't exactly sure what this was going to be like. He'd never met Lauren's family, and he wasn't sure if he'd run into her parents.

And, well... honestly? No parent ever wanted to see Noah Puckerman in his or her living room... or... kitchen, as the case may be.

Lauren led Puck through the living room and into the kitchen, where her dad and younger brother Jonathan were eating.

She noticed Puck's eyes get wider as he surveyed the sheer amount of food on the kitchen table, served buffet style. The Zizes' didn't do anything half-assed, breakfast especially.

"Dig in," Lauren said, adding a banana, sausage, 2 waffles and hash browns onto her plate. "Dad, Jon, I'd introduce you, but I don't think Puck needs any introduction."

"Ah, Noah Puckerman," Lauren's dad replied, looking at him over the top of the newspaper he was reading, "welcome to the Zizes Breakfast Buffet. Help yourself."

Lauren's younger brother, on the other hand, barely even acknowledged Puck's presence at the table, instead focusing on his cell phone.

Lauren shrugged as she bit into a piece of sausage. "The Family Zizes."

Puck was pretty caught off guard that the family knew who he was. "Um... hi?" he offered, glancing around the room. "Thanks." Puck was really good with moms. Really good. But not so much with dads. They always made him nervous.

Still, the food smells awesome, and he grabs a plate and loads up. Everything looks awesome, and Puck even sneaks a little sausage. He's pretty sure JewGod will be okay with it, since he only recently started going more kosher with things.

Dark eyes turn to Lauren, hoping she'll suggest something like going to another room so he doesn't have to be all up in the family dining experience. It's just awkward.

Lauren catches Puck's look and rolls her eyes.

"Alright, family, I'm taking Puck to the living room, where no one is, and we're going to make out till we have to leave for school."

She wanted to laugh when she heard Puck choke on the bite of sausage he was taking. He didn't know her family, sadly, or the fact that they were rarely ever serious in this house. It was fun to mess with people the first time they came over, even though not very many people did.

"Okay, sweetie," Lauren's dad responded, turning the page of his newspaper loudly. "Have fun."

Lauren led Puck into the living room and motioned for him to take a seat on the ugly but admittedly comfy looking couch.

Puck wasn't used to even being around parents, and having Lauren joke with hers that way caught him totally off guard.

He followed her as she led the way to the living room, plopping down on the couch. He didn't even really notice what it looked like. A couch is a couch is a couch... Glancing over at Lauren, he waggled an eyebrow at her. "So... Are we really gonna make out?" he asked playfully.

Lauren glanced at Puck over the top of her glasses while she peeled her banana slowly.

"I mean, we can. I kinda wanna finish my breakfast first, though. It is the most important meal of the day, you know."

Lauren'd never admit that she liked surprising Puck, and his concealing a laugh with a snort was pretty adorable.

She hadn't really planned on any making out, but if he was offering, she was game.

"If you don't want to..." he said with a shrug. He wasn't going to beg. Puck wasn't that type of guy. If he wanted it, he'd get it somewhere.

"Damn... Your family should open a restaurant. This food is fucking awesome..." he raved as he ate a huge bite of waffles. His favorite breakfast food ever. They certainly rock the food thing in the Zizes house.

Lauren did want to. But she wasn't going to let Puck know that - it would go against her Rules of Wooing. So as much as she'd love to jump on him right now, she wasn't going to. She'd wait, and eventually she'd get what she wanted. She always did.

"You probably haven't even been practicing, anyway," Lauren said, finishing off her toast with a sip of orange juice. "But thanks - my dad actually does want to open a little cafe someday. He's damn good in the kitchen. Maybe you should come over when we have lasagna next, it's the best in, like, the world."

Shit. Did that sound like a date invitation? It kind of was, but Lauren didn't want it to be too obvious. Playing hard to get was really not her thing. To be honest, playing easy to get wasn't her thing, either. Not very many boys had ever expressed an interest in Lauren, so she wasn't exactly sure what she was doing.

"Most chicks get pissed off when they find out I've been practicing," he teased, before downing another mouthful of waffles.

"Seriously?" he asked, eyebrows raised. Any chick who offered him free food was okay by him. Honestly, he wasn't even looking at it as a date. He didn't consider anything involving the presence of parental units to be a real date... Puck loved lasagna, even though it wasn't really the most kosher thing, either... But homemade lasagna? Well, he'd just have to ask JewGod for forgiveness.

"Yeah... Lasagna sounds good..." he said, shrugging nonchalantly.

"It's not like we're dating or anything. I'm just sayin', your technique needs a little work. Most girls don't complain 'cause they're all caught up in ... ", Lauren pauses, waving her arms in the air for emphasis, " ... your hotness or whatever to notice."

Lauren finished off her breakfast and set her plate down on the coffee table. "But yeah, Dad won't mind another plate on the kitchen table. He likes feeding people. I mean, as you can tell. And seriously, I'd kill for that lasagna."

She smiled as she stood up and brushed the crumbs off her skirt. "Once you have more of his cooking, you'll never want to eat anywhere else again."

"You... You saying I'm not hot enough for you to enjoy kissing me?" Puck asked, eyebrows arched, his face plainly showing that he was truly offended. He started rolling up his sleeves. "Have you seen my guns?"

"Your dad's pretty cool," he replied. He was kind of jealous. He wished he had a kickass dad who cooked for him and his friends.

Puck didn't doubt her last statement, and he quickly finished off his food, and stood up to follow Lauren.

Lauren rolled her eyes. "You're plenty hot enough for me, Puckerman. The size and awesomeness of your arms don't take away from the fact that your kisses are a little ... wet. I mean, you an prove me wrong anytime you want, though."

She picked up her plate and motioned for Puck to follow her into the kitchen to drop them off.

"Bye Dad," she said as she placed her dish into the sink, and picked up her bag from beside her chair, where she'd left it.

"Ready?" she asked, turning to face Puck, who was still fidgeting nervously while in the presence of her father. It was cute, she thought.

Well, it was at least satisfying that he was still Puckzilla hot, but no one had ever challenged his kissing skills, and he just wasn't really sure how to take that. "What the hell? Nobody... Nobody has ever complained about my kisses...."

"Thanks... for... um... breakfast..." Puck said awkwardly as he made his way past Lauren's dad.

"Yeah... Let's go. Wanna ride in my truck?"

"Sure," Lauren replied, closing and locking the front door after Puck.

Getting in and buckling up, Lauren turned to look at Puck.

"Look, it's not that making out with you isn't enjoyable, 'cause it is. If I said it wasn't I'd be lying. You just need a little more ... flair."

She popped her knuckles loudly and faced forward again. "You don't suck, but you could certainly use more practice if you want to, like, become a master at kissing. I am available as a practice partner after wrestling practice everyday, but that's totally up to you."

"Flair?" Puck asked, dark eyes turned on her in question. "You mean... Like the wrestler?" So maybe he didn't totally get it, but he'd give it a go for sure.

The boy ran his hand over his mohawk before firing up the truck and starting off toward school. "Okay," he said. "You're on, Zizes... Time and place, and I'm there."
