Quinn had cheated on Sam with Finn. Santana, of course, had been the one to reveal that to the rest of the club. It hadn't taken much effort for her to put it together. They were so obvious it was ridiculous. By spreading mono to Finn, he'd spread it to Quinn, and effectively outed them both. Yet, Sam "Justin Bieber" Evans, still hadn't gotten it. Santana could not stand for that. So, she'd broken it down for him, and before she really realized what she was saying, she was offering to date him. Mentally, she'd been cursing herself, and she was actually really surprised that he'd said yes, though she obviously didn't show it. This was perfect. He could be her cover until she and Brittany were ready to come out -- if that ever happened.
It had taken some convincing to get Brittany on board, but eventually, she seemed to understand. Santana made it clear that she wanted to be with Brittany and that this thing with Sam was all for show. It would boost her popularity, and it would keep them safe from being outed. Plus, it pissed off Quinn, which was always a bonus. They were in the "hate" part of their love-hate relationship after the mono incident.
It had been a long week, with all the partying and alcohol. Seeing Sam and Brittany kiss during Spin The Bottle at Rachel's party had driven her insane. No one kissed her girlfriend except for her. Still, she couldn't really talk. She was the one who had chosen to take Sam on as a cover without revealing the details of her and Brittany's relationship. She kept her mouth shut, kept reminding herself that they'd been drunk and ignored it, bottling up everything she was feeling, as usual.
Today especially had been a strange day. Figgins had though that Brittany losing it all over Rachel (and Santana subsequently losing it at that sight) were special effects. He'd even rewarded them with half off coupons for frozen yogurt. Even if it was sort of a lame reward, it was still kind of amazing he'd believed that. And after, it kind of sucked that Mr. Schue had decided to lay down the law and tell them they couldn't drink anymore, even making them sign pledges, but at the same time it was kind of cool of him to offer to be there for them. Maybe he wasn't so bad sometimes, even if he was totally addicted to vests.
After school, Santana spotted Sam in the hallway and crooked her finger at him, gesturing for him to come with her to her car. They had to look like a couple, and as long as she was running this show, he would look like a proper gentleman and walk her to her car.
