Who? Puck and whoever wants to ask about his black eye When? Tuesday morning, the day after THIS Where? School Rating: I don't think it'll go any higher than PG-13
"Ugh I hate raspberry," Tina thought irritably as she walked down the hallway. She'd been slushied almost as soon as she stepped foot on school grounds, and wouldn't you know it, she'd decided to wear a white blouse today. Now she was heading to the bathroom, slushie dripping down her shirt and making it look like she'd just come from a crime scene.
As she neared the bathroom, she passed the familiar figure of Puck. She didn't have any intention of talking to him, she was more worried about how her hair was going to smell for the rest of the day, but a dark mark on one side of her fellow glee clubber's face caught her attention.
She halted and turned to look at him. "Whoa...! Puck, what happened to you?"
He'd been trying to avoid glee club attention for the most part, knowing that Santana had friends there... Not to mention that Brittany would be there, and he really had nothing against Brittany. He didn't want her to know what he'd said about her, since, in all honesty, she'd had nothing to do with the fight. He'd just been shooting a low blow at Santana.
But when Tina stopped him, he had no choice but to lie. "These two football players from... uh... Lincoln High... and... they were freakin' big, too... And I got 'em off me, but they got a good punch in before I did."
Tina made a face. "That sucks. Looks like it hurts," she commented sincerely. She didn't like Puck very much, and she didn't really understand why he was in Glee club, but she couldn't help feeling a little bad for him. Then again, it was entirely possible he'd deserved it. "What'd you do?"
Puck shrugged. "I was just wearing my letter jacket, and those punks jumped me." He shook his head. He kind of felt bad lying about it to Tina... She really was a nice chick, and Puck knew she wasn't his hugest fan, but had been concerned enough to ask him if he was OK.
She nodded. It made sense - she wasn't much into sports, but she was more than aware of how seriously the other players took their rivalries. Although....there was something weird about it..she couldn't quite put her finger on.
"Well, sorry to hear that," she said. "But I should probably get going - as you can see I had my own punk to deal with," she gestured to her slushie-stained outfit. "Now I need to try and salvage what's left of this."
She frowned and began to walk away. She stopped, however, and turned around. "Um, do the guys at Lincoln..like, the ones that jumped you - do you think they take steroids?"
The dripping slushy thing did pretty much suck. Tina was awesome. She didn't deserve that. Even though Puck hadn't really spent much time thinking of who deserved it when he was slushying people. Still, now that he knew many of the people on the receiving end, he felt less cool for having done it.
Puck was completely caught off guard by that question. "I mean... I guess it's possible... Why?" He really didn't know if players at other schools used steroids.
probably fudging bruising facts but oh well it's glee! :-PmorbidbubblesJanuary 8 2011, 03:19:59 UTC
"Well, I was just wondering, 'cause, I mean, I've heard that they can have all these weird affects on the body, like making certain parts of you super big or super small," Tina replied, scratching at the back of her head. God she felt like a babbling idiot. She used to have the hardest time just getting a sentence out, but now she had the opposite problem - she couldn't seem to stop.
"S-so I was just wondering if those Lincoln guys did, because where they punched you-" though the two of them were a distance away from each other, she extended her arm as she made the comparison, holding up a fist. "...looks smaller than normal. Like, their hand's barely bigger than mine."
yeah... they fudge people facts!jewhawkJanuary 8 2011, 03:29:46 UTC
Puck was totally confused as to what she was talking about until she got to the point, and then he pushed her hand away. "It was the kicker who actually swung at me," he said, a little too quickly. "The other guys wrestled me down, and the kicker is the one who punched me." As if that explained it. Kickers were generally small, so he figured it would make sense. But Tina wasn't a big sports fan from what he knew about her.
Tina jumped a little when he pushed her hand away, but she stood still to listen to his explanation. She nodded slowly. It made sense. Although she wondered why someone whose title was kicker would decide to use their fists, it still sounded plausible. Except.. "Wait...I thought you said before it was two guys?" Now she was just confused.
"Well, yeah... The two guys jumped me, and then their buddy... the kicker... showed up and clocked me in the face. It's cool... I got away from them." He was trying like hell to figure this part out. He'd had his story all set until Tina'd noticed the shape and small size of the bruise. Then he'd had to come up with an explanation. He wasn't sure she bought it, and he was pissed at having had to change the details.
Tina frowned. Puck's countenance had turned, for lack of a better word in her mind, grumpy. And someone of his size was definitely capable of damage if you touched the wrong nerve, and she didn't want to be around for that. "O-okay," she stammered, nervously falling back into her old habit. "Gotcha."
She stood there for a moment fidgeting, unsure of what to say until a tiny rivulet of slush fell into her eye. "OW!" she exclaimed. Her hand rushed to her eye, and her unfortunate instinct was to rub it, and that only made it worse. "Damnit! Puck, I gotta go. I'll... see you in Glee club," she said hurriedly, speed-walking to the nearest bathroom.
Puck nodded, watching the girl scurry away to get the slushy out of her eye. He had to remember his story and keep it straight from now on. He got the feeling Tina would be hard to put one over on.
Annoyed, he walked on toward his first class of the day.
