Tina really had no idea how long she'd been crying in the choir room before Mr. Kinney, the janitor, overheard her and kindly brought her to the nurse's office. She could barely speak to the nurse about what was wrong, the tears and lump in her throat were so dominant. She felt nauseous, and it was that word that she actually articulated to the nurse. The next thing she knew, she was being allowed to lay down on one of the cots for as long she needed, with a bucket nearby. She'd lain there for several minutes, staring at the friendship bracelet on her arm and crying until she finally fell asleep from exhaustion.
When she awoke, it was nearing the end of the second-to-last period of the day. She quietly sneaked by the nurse to stick a note on Kurt's locker (it was closest) saying she needed to talk to him and Mercedes. Guilty that she'd missed most of the school day, she forced herself to attend last period, though she ended up sitting in the back of the room texting Kurt and Mercedes and making plans to meet with them.
That was why she was here, sitting on one of the wooden desks of the Astronomy room, staring up at the hanging model of the solar system. She found it ironic that Earth was situated between Venus and Mars, symbols of love and war, and Tina had encountered both concepts today. She sighed as she waited for Kurt and Mercedes to arrive, pulling her knees close to her chest and glancing over at the classroom door every so often.
