Epicurus

Really wanting to dig my 'essential eppicurus' out and read again.

I love the simple approach to life he advocates, to achieve the ultimate pleasure by removing pain and anxiety and avoiding those lesser pleasures who in the end can bring discomfort and worry. Be nice, so you don't worry, eat properly and live clean, and not have to worry. Spend little and live a basic life, so you never have to be anxious about how to provide more than you can afford.

Give me a cottage, a field to grow crops, a pasture and a small little garden with a fire and some chairs. Give me my good honest friends and comrades and a guitar. Give me home made wine and bread. Give me happyness at last.

If you're reading this, you're all welcome in my garden, one day. Bring something, take something, be happy and be free.

Peace.
