Called home twice during the past few days to wish all the relatives happy chinese new year.

#1
New Year's Eve.

Me: Hi Mom.
Mom: Hi, we're having reunion dinner!
Me: Oh nice.
Mom: We have shark's fin, steamboat, heng hua noodles, clams,....
Me: Thanks Mom.
Mom: What are you having?
Me: Potato salad.
Mom laughed.

Speaking of lack of compassion.

And they gathered at my aunt/godma's place today.

Me: Hello, Mummy.
Godma: We're having a party and feast here!
Me: Oh nice.
Godma: Yar, you so poor thing hor, nothing to eat there.
Me: Uh. Thanks ah.

Thank god Karen & Kathy threw a fabulous party today, with lots of chinese food including wonderful chicken curry, & my favourite prawn you tiao & roast duck wraps.
Yum.

Happy Chinese New Year, folks.
Be glad at least you have public holidays in Singapore.
