The doctors at our village medical center didn't have a clue, although the nurses were great. I'm now an outpatient under the care of a cardiac consultant at the hospital in Wrexham. They have a support team there and I have a personal contact, Fiona, who makes sure I do a daily weight and keep track of my salt and fluid. Also my mum, who has her own issues with edema, likes to come along with me to medical appointments and grill the doctors for information.
I'm sorry that you seem to have had such a struggle with your own health. Feel free to vent to me as long as you don't mind returning the favor!
My mum has raised us on a lower salt diet, but I had grown lazy and was buying too many ready made meals that just need to be warmed up in the oven or microwave or using a store bought sauce in a jar. I've started checking labels on everything and the biggest shock was the salt in bread. Mum makes her own and has started doing an extra loaf for me.
