I noticed that some of my flist from livejournal are now posting at Dreamwidth so I've set up this new account. Same name as before. Don't have any friends yet. Will have to find out where all the good communities are for Stargate Atlantis. Also I need to decide which is the best place for posting stories. Going to try cross posting this ( Read more... )

I'm on DW as Elayna, but I mostly forget to use it. So add me there if you would like, but don't delete me on LJ.

I have no plans to delete mutual friends - that would be horrible.
I might do some housekeeping and clear down people who never friended me back.

I'm going to be publishing in DW and cross posting to LJ. You can comment on either post.

Oh, it's not meant as a horrible thing and I don't think it's taken as such. I've just seen several people announce that since they're friended with people on DW, they're going to delete them from LJ, on the assumption that no one needs to see their posts twice. It's an organization thing. These friends here, those there, but everyone seeing the same posts.

(Except I always wonder if that works well, as I don't know how granting access and subscribing on DW matches up to flocked posts on LJ, so is it really guaranteed that everyone will get your locked posts? This is part of the reason I don't mess around with DW, I don't anyone to miss out. Except now I realize that there are people who only friended me on DW, so I assume they never see the locked LJ posts. Oops.)

So that's a ramble, but it is why I clarify I have a DW but I don't use it much, so people don't make an incorrect assumption on where I'm reading.

Oh I can see your point, that if both you and the friend are cross posting you don't need to be friends on both sites.

I'm going to use DW as the parent and LJ as a replicate for now and people can pick whichever site they prefer to follow me on.

I need to check as I think subscribers see your public stuff in their reading page and people you grant access have flocked posts?

I think you have it correct, but I'm not positive, so this is why I don't crosspost.
